Friends of Skylark

The area around The Skylark Café buzzes with fitness classes, tennis, and many kids classes, all run by great people who are leading small businesses or one-man bands. We are lucky enough to serve many of their clients at the cafe where we hear first hand how great the classes are. So we've compiled the list below which we hope will be helpful for all.

We have also added a few other suppliers to our list, who have been invaluable in helping us to set up our business and whose services we would highly recommend!

Action Club is a unique and stimulating fitness and music programme for children aged 4 months to 4 years. Using modern nursery rhymes and versatile props, Amanda and team provide endless interactive activities and on sunny summer days the classes take place outdoors.

Active Art run lovely workshops for both children and adults, at the NatureScope centre next door to the café.  There are holiday and half-term drop-off workshops for children, as well as a term-time Saturday morning class which combines art and drama. A weekly adult drawing class also runs throughout the year.  Please contact Amanda on 07775 781332 or email artimatelondon@gmail.com

Our neighbours at All Stars Tennis offer top standard tuition and courses for all ages (including holiday camps for children). The excellent courts are available to hire too and you can also book a session on the bowling green with their office.

The Nature Centre on Wandsworth Common is our closest neighbour, a vibrant and accessible community facility with a focus on ecological education, skills training and recreation. You can attend fantastic yoga classes here and even hire the space for kids parties! You know where to come for your food ;-)!

Open Air Fit is run by coach Mel Capleton and if you visit us you'll be sure to see him and his team out training in their bright blue t-shirts, come rain or shine! They have a range of classes, sessions and programs, to suit children and adults of all ages, ability and fitness levels and work from Wandsworth Common, just opposite the cafe.

SWfit is run by personal trainer and local mum, Jill Walsh. Jill offers one on one and group training sessions on the common and is also trained to teach post natal fitness and baby massage to new mums.

Trytime have created rugby based games and activities that increase kids enjoyment of sport as well as develop them physically.  There are sessions near the café every Saturday morning during term time.

As well as being a children's entertainer and general fitness guru, Eliza runs the Buggyfit classes which take place on Wandsworth Common several times a week.  Having attended these, they are a brilliant way to meet other new mums and lose the baby weight, without having to find childcare!
